What is the difference between a bath, Deluxe Pet Styling, and Premium Pet Styling?

Our bath service focuses on cleanliness and coat refresh. Deluxe Pet Styling is considered a “mini groom,” ideal between full haircuts, while Premium Pet Styling includes a full-body haircut tailored to your preferences. Both Deluxe and Premium services include shampoo, conditioner, blow dry, brushing, nail care, and ear cleaning.

How often should I groom my dog?

We recommend having your dog groomed every 4–8 weeks, depending on breed and coat type. Daily brushing and combing are recommended between grooms to keep your pet’s skin and coat in optimal health.

How long does a grooming appointment take?

Appointment times vary based on pet size, coat length, and condition. Estimated timeframes are listed on our Services page, and we’ll contact you before your pet’s appointment is complete to coordinate pickup.

When should my puppy come in for their first grooming visit?

We recommend scheduling your puppy’s first visit two weeks after their final set of vaccinations. During this visit, puppies are gently introduced to the grooming environment without clipping, helping create calm, positive experiences for future visits.

I have more than one dog—do they need to come on separate days?

At Milltown, the more the merrier! We can absolutely see all of your pups in one day.

Can I stay and watch while you groom my pet?

Your pup loves you very much and may move around trying to get close to you, which is not safe during grooming. We ask pet parents to drop off their pets at their scheduled appointment time and return for pickup. We’re always happy to show you around the salon and welcome you to call anytime to check on how your pet is doing.

My dog is very stressed for grooming, and my vet prescribed a sedative. Will you still groom my dog?

We accept pets on mild, veterinarian-prescribed sedation or natural relaxants, provided they can stand and respond during the grooming process. All prescriptions must come from a licensed veterinarian, and additional documentation may be requested.

My dog has bitten at other salons—will you still groom them?

We make every genuine effort to work with all dogs in our care. If a pet becomes overly stressed or safety becomes a concern, the session may be discontinued, and recommendations will be discussed with you.

What should I bring for my pet’s appointment?

We recommend allowing your pet time to relieve themselves before arrival. If you have a specific style in mind, reference photos are welcome to help guide your stylist.

My dog is older—can they still be groomed?

All dogs, regardless of age, benefit from grooming. Senior, disabled, or ill pets may require special handling, and our team is experienced in working with pets who have arthritis, vision or hearing loss, diabetes, and other age-related considerations, always prioritizing comfort and safety.

How often does my dog need nail trimming, and do I need an appointment?

Nail trimming is recommended monthly. We offer walk-in nail appointments that can be booked online for your convenience.

What if I am not happy with the service my dog receives?

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the treatment received, please contact us within two business days so we can do our best to address your concerns. Your satisfaction is important to us.
